5 morning habits you should adopt

The first few hours in the morning determine the rest of our day. And who doesn't know it: in the morning you are often tired, lazy and would like to go back to sleep. If you also suffer from common morning frustration, check out our 5 morning habits for a perfect start to the day!
 

1. Drink water, not coffee or tea

The first liquid your body craves in the morning is water. If you drink water on an empty stomach in the morning, you literally help the body flush out harmful substances. Drinking water in the morning also helps boost your metabolism. A higher metabolism also means a better digestive system, which is very helpful when losing weight! Of course, you can safely drink coffee and tea after a glass of water.
 

2. Consciously leave your smartphone out

Cell phones should be taboo in the first hour of the day. This means you don't check emails, messages or your social media channels. After getting up, your concentration and mindfulness should not be negatively influenced by push messages on your cell phone. The messages weren't answered for about 8 hours anyway, so another hour won't make much of a difference.

 

3. Meditate and clear your head

Instead, take a few minutes and meditate or if you are a believer, pray, it will help you clear your head. 90% of all illnesses are caused by stress, so forget everything around you and enjoy a few minutes of absolute morning silence. Focus on your breathing. You can also say an empowering mantra to yourself. Close your eyes and relax for a few minutes.
 
 

4. Good preparation is half the battle

If you prepare your clothes for the next day the evening before and briefly go through your morning routine, that's half the battle! Every decision that you no longer have to make in the morning saves you unnecessary stress and hecticness in the early hours of the morning.
 
 

5. Leave things tidy

If you make your bed after getting up, you have already successfully completed your first task of the day and you feel like you have accomplished something. This is how you start the day with positive thoughts!
